Land of horses
The silent valley of La Carrera offers an ideal environment for the growth of cattle and horses. It´s soil build by sediments left by the retrieve of ancient glaciers of the Andes mountain range, plus a cold weather, more humid than usual in Mendoza region, makes the place a perfect region for natural pasture.
From the origin of the ancient ranchs from the region, the leading role that open the road to development on the region were the horses and the gauchos team. That´s why the name of the valley is "La Carrera" (the race), for the horse races that were done at the place.
Today Estancia La Alejandra offers the possibility to watch docens of horses in freedom on the extense horse´s paddocks. Horses born at the place and other being recovered after been mistreated or selled for their meat, are now living with us in freedom at the foot of the Andes.
Towards a change.
Inherited the tradition of the gauchos, it was the traditional tame the method used for the horses´trainning to ride. This method is based on the animal´s submission and is based on strenght and a sort of violence. Looking forward to give something back to the horses for all what they have given to us we met a woman from Switzerland, Caroline Wolfer, who has traveled the world of horses achieving a philosophy where the man and the horse are on the same level based in a trusting relationship, the natural horses method. From several workshops that have been done at the Estancia we have been slowly introducing this method in the region, we have just started the path but we are confident to keep on improving.
Today at Estancia La Alejandra Caroline gives workshops and clinics of Natural-horses (www.natural-horses.com), a development leaded by Caroline Wolfer, that spreads tha Natural horses philosophy. She also gives coaching workshops to business and personal growth workshops.
